The City of Fort Lauderdale and SunTex Marinas have broken ground on the new Las Olas Marina, located directly adjacent to the Las Olas parking garage and Intracoastal Waterway on the north side of Las Olas Blvd at Fort Lauderdale Beach.
The $70 million project will include boat slips to accommodate mega yachts, outdoor waterfront dining, boutique retail, infrastructure improvements, pedestrian-friendly spaces and a 31,000 square foot marine services building (with a restaurant, ship store, office space, gym, swimming pool. The annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will also call the Las Olas Marina home.
To create more space for the mega yachts that will call the Las Olas Marina home, part of the construction involves converting 3 acres of land (historically used as a parking lot) back to water and natural marine habitat.
The new marina will create another signature destination offering spectacular views of the Intracoastal Waterway that will enhance Fort Lauderdale’s position as the “Yachting Capital of the World.”
