The City of Fort Lauderdale has launched the Micro Mover free transportation program for Downtown, Las Olas and the beach (where it’s a fixed loop route with various stops along the way). This is in addition to the existing LauderGo! transportation programs [also free] such as the Water Trolley and Community Shuttle. Service Hours:
- Downtown: 10 AM to 8 PM (Sun-Thurs) and until 11 PM Fri-Sat)
- The Beach: 10 AM to 7 PM Daily
This is a 6 month trial period which will be used to assess the long term viability and mobility impact.
The electric vehicles can seat up to 5 passengers and because it’s ridesharing, a trip may be shared by riders from different parties. Pets are welcome at the discretion of each driver and there’s even room at the back of each vehicle for luggage and beach gear.
